Lucci’s Proprietary Trading Firm

Many brokers out here nowadays charge a pretty penny for commissions. For traders with small accounts, it’s difficult to manage this cost coupled with the inability to actively day trade under the Pattern Day Trading rule. The average broker fees these days for someone looking to play options will run about $.75/contract & $8 per trade. That of course includes both ways, the buy & the sell.

What most people don’t know is that these brokers pay SIGNIFICANTLY less to provide us with order routing & trading services.  Now, the smarter way is to go directly to a Broker Dealer, which we have now conveniently done for you. We talked to several Broker Dealers all around the country to see where we could find the cheapest commission rates for both options and equities.

So besides receiving low commissions & bypassing the PDT rule, there are other advantages to trading at a Prop Firm. Access to leverage can be a big benefit to someone looking to increase their risk when trading equities. Having leverage allows me to be much more flexible with the strategies I want to pursue when trading even a larger sized account. A newer trader with small capital will have the ability to trade shares in companies that would have been priced too high for $5 – $25K accounts.

Another advantage comes from using professional direct access platforms with multiple order routes & ECN’s to play with. The platforms are customized with hundreds of various settings for charts, level 2′s, time & sales, options chains, stock filters, & most importantly, hot keys. Hot keys allow for a much smoother trading experience, especially for one who plans to trade in and out of equities/options several times a day. These professional platforms are also faster than retail brokers which sometimes makes all the difference.
